This is not an exciting story.

It contains no desperate chases across rainy rooftops, no heartbreaking fights between friends-turned-enemies, no one-in-a-million shots that just might work, no stirring displays of determination, no tense high-stakes confrontations, no friendships forged in fire, no chosen ones, no prophecies, no romance, no heroes.

This is not an exciting story, because there's far too much going on each and every day to worry about that sort of thing. Excitement! Honestly, who has the time or the energy to spare. Adventure is even worse, do you want to know what an adventure inevitably involves? Long explanations of terribly important (but somehow also quite boring) matters, far too many skipped meals, a distressing lack of proper hydration and a troubling shortage of bathroom breaks.

This is not an exciting story, because only people with no actual problems can afford the luxury that is 'excitement'. Just getting by is hard enough, in this world. It's not one that cares about the likes of us, we strange little trouble girls, welcomed by nobody and never quite fitting in. At least there's the train, reliable enough if you have the coins for a ticket. Good luck if you don't.
