Sort Of Skipped A Step: Frontier Kingdoms 0.7 & Sourcebook #1 - Frontier Society released

Here's a few things I've been picking away at for a while now. I never released 0.6 of Frontier Kingdoms because it was mostly a formatting edition with only a few very minor changes and additions. Then I started working on the sourcebook and felt that moving all the party rules from the main document into a separate thing was probably a good idea, which meant a big change and sort of felt like a new edition was needed, and anyway, here they are!

In terms of changes and additions, Elements are now Aspects, mostly for clarity reasons, the whole thing's a little more colourful, and there are a few areas I expanded on rather than changed completely. So it's not a whole new game, just a teensy bit refined. Almost feels like it could be ... finished? But no, don't be ridiculous. Games never get finished, they just get released. Anyway, the sourcebook is pretty fun. I don't think I fiddled with the party or tournament rules much but there's a lot of good new stuff in there about the factions.

There's also a slightly experimental ebook version of the game (and sourcebook) available now. I've tested it on the tablet I have to hand (a Kindle Fire whatever-the-cheap-one-is, converted using Calibre) and it works pretty decently, except for tables. Ebooks hate those things.

Where to next with this? Maybe the wild lands, actually. Monsters, elementals, more strange phenomena, maybe even rebel princesses now that Rebel Dreams is out and they've been introduced on their own terms. That'll likely be another sourcebook rather than a new edition, though. As a game, in its current form, I think Frontier Kingdoms stands on its own pretty solidly.
