Sourcebook #3 - Stochastic Reign

Well, here we are again, with yet another sourcebook for Frontier Kingdoms. This one's pretty short right now, but I'll add to it if and when anything new pops up. Stochastic Reign is a collection of new and variant rules, including Dramatic Harm which I'm pretty excited about. It's great! Basically instead of taking levels of harm and that reducing effect or removing dice, when a princess takes harm she picks an option from a list and then has to fulfil a resolution condition to remove it. So maybe the princess 'has a secret' and must reveal it to the other princesses, or she 'has a startling vision' and has to make herself vulnerable by sharing the vision, or 'something goes missing' and she has to reveal both what went missing and how its loss hurts her. Of course she might just get 'actually sort of hurt' or even 'pretty badly hurt', or just 'all jacked up'. Anyway, harm can be resolved with Recover actions or by fulfilling the conditions, and there's a bunch of Lasting Harm that has permanent effects (like taking a heart scar, or a physical scar, or gaining a rival, or damaging your kingdom in some way), and it's just all in the thing so yep, take a look.

Aside from the new harm system there are rules for rivals, princess goals post-frontier, increasing Land via chore clocks, and a bunch of stuff about variant starting situations, including reclaiming fallen kingdoms, saving failing kingdoms, and 'island kingdoms' far removed from the border. All in all, a whole bunch of stuff to look at and go 'hmm yes interesting' or 'this doesn't seem necessary' or even 'well this is stupid and I hate it' at.
